Dear Mr. Krispel, I have just been through and really enjoyed your gallery. I've always had a soft spot for watercolors. I could not help, however, noticing that the backgrounds on many of your ship in harbor pieces and some of the trains are remarkably reminiscent of the 911 wreckage from the terrorist attacks on the world trade center. Is this just a coincidence? Whatever the case, your'e work is wonderful. Best wishes.
welcome, thanks for visit and comment... as about background - similarity to 911 wreckage is pure coincidental, and is coincidental in the whole meaning. i'll reveal my secret - i start from drawing in details ship (or train) and leave background not defined. i Than i paint it and create the background completely "ad hoc", it's almost always not designed - i just paint... that's why i treat every my drawing as "trip to unknown world" - and thats the reason, it looks like destroyed city - it just comes like this ... Thanks one more time, have a nice day - sorry for my english
